Drs. Kara & Sebastian Ask some important questions of interest to Barrie residents - Chiropractor Barrie Drs. Kara & Sebastian Ask...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
What's the purpose of a surgeon's mask?
When I ask most people in Barrie this, most think it protects the patient from the doctor's germs. But it's so porous it does little to prevent the passage of germs. We chiropractors don't bother with masks.

Your First Visit

Make Yourself At Home

You will feel at home. Our clients often remark how warm and inviting our Barrie office is. We have designed our space to be comfortable and make you feel at home. You’ll find plenty of convenient parking either on the street or in our well-lit parking lot. You’ll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our office.

If you’ve already completed your First Visit paperwork, great! If not, after doing so, you’ll meet Dr. Sebastian or Dr. Kara for your consultation and assessment.

Plan for 30-45 minutes for your First Visit if you bring your paperwork completed with you. You may download our forms right from this site! If you need to fill in your health history paperwork in our office, allow yourself an additional 15 minutes, so come early! Your health is important to us!

We want to take the time we need during your First Visit.

The Consultation

The purpose of our initial consultation is we can get to know each other and determine if we can help.

We Listen

During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care. We’ll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening.

A Partnership

The consultation also gives you an opportunity to tour our office, interview Angie and learn a bit more about chiropractic. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it’s important that you’re comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our office. The consultation is a great way to find that out.

The Next Step

If we don’t think we can help, we’ll tell you. If we think we can help, and you agree, we can usually proceed to the next step, which is a thorough chiropractic assessment.

Our clients appreciate the fact that we explain everything in advance!

The Chiropractic Assessment

The consultation helps us to determine if you’re likely to receive chiropractic care. Our thorough assessment might be very different than some other health practitioners you have visited. Our goal is to determine what areas of your spine and nervous system are involved and related to your health challenges. We achieve this by a bilateral weight scale analysis, a postural assessment, some neurological tests, range of motion evaluations, leg length analysis and motion/static palpation.

After your consultation and assessment, Dr. Sebastian or Dr. Kara will bring you back to the front desk to schedule your Report of Findings and Recommendations.
