Drs. Kara & Sebastian Ask some important questions of interest to Barrie residents - Chiropractor Barrie Drs. Kara & Sebastian Ask...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
What's the purpose of a surgeon's mask?
When I ask most people in Barrie this, most think it protects the patient from the doctor's germs. But it's so porous it does little to prevent the passage of germs. We chiropractors don't bother with masks.

Progress Assessments

Periodically throughout your care, we perform Progress Assessments to measure your changes. A similar assessment to the one you have on your First Visit helps us to chart progress. This is a time for you to share the changes in your health and the different lifestyle choices you have been making to help you get better results.

On visit following the Progress Assessment, the doctor will go over the results with you and make further recommendations for your care. With the momentum established from the intensive schedule during the early part of your care, we can often reduce your visit frequency without sacrificing continued progress.

The Danger

About this time, many people start to feel significantly better. They’re often tempted to discontinue their care. And of course, how long you benefit from chiropractic is always up to you. Please note that you are more likely to experience a symptomatic relapse if you discontinue care before we have stabilized your spine and nervous system. This is part of the retraining process to create a stronger, more adaptable body! This strengthening is in the second stage of care, after symptoms disappear. Just like exercise, the more you do it, the stronger you get!

Just let us know so we can support your decision.
